Midterm: Are you an End-Time Warrior?
Yes!!! Absolutely!!! I have had a number of experiences in my life that have pointed to this calling. These events (prophetic dreams, prophetic blessings, and more) highlighted the War between God and satan, Jesus and the devil, Light and darkness.
For far too long in my life, I have allowed the devil and demons to “push my buttons”, lead me around, undermine my ministry and witness for Christ, break my heart, confuse my thinking and understanding, lead me into sin and temptation and more. I really did not have a clue about spiritual warfare until coming to Missouri in 2007, and I really did not understand it properly or have the proper examples/mentors until beginning my education with Faith Bible College and Ebony & Ivory Ministries.
I had a prophetic dream after asking the Lord as a teenager what to do with my life. He gave me 2 dreams in one night. The dreams dealt with deliverance ministry in using the Name of Jesus in spiritual warfare (Philip. 2:9-11) and in becoming vulnerable (trusting of God) and in dealing with the devil/demons having known me and in having been allowed to “work me over” for most of my life.
I also had a prophetic blessing which spoke about (demonic) “warriors working” to pull me from God, but I chose God. (“A battle between the forces of the universe has been waging and you have overcome that battle. You have chosen to follow the Lord Jesus though the [demonic] warriors have been valiant in trying to tear you from that decision. You must recognize that, yes, there is a great war going on in the hearts of the people. You have seen through the deceptions of the great deceiver…”—2003 Evangelist Blessing).
The above experiences and more have pointed to the need for training in spiritual warfare and how little I have known and walked in my past. I’ve only begun to get a handle on the mighty weapons of our warfare to pull down strongholds of the enemy (2 Cor. 10:4), destroy the works of the devil (thief, destroyer) in the Name and Blood of Christ (1 John 3:8), and to get myself and others free of demonic and worldly influence (Gal. 5:13). I praise God for what I’ve learned through Ebony & Ivory Ministries and through Faith Bible College-my training ground, my covering, my mentors and teachers, my learning and greater anointed walk/adventure. This is definitely the time for End-Time Warriors of Jesus Christ to rise, prepare and fight!

David Smith and Dabbling in the Occult #1
I’m going to develop this into a full blog entry. I got the book From Mission to Madness: Last Son of the Mormon Prophet by Valeen Tippetts Avery from the library. From the preface, “David Hyrum Smith (1844-1904) was a brilliant and charismatic man, whose mind began to be clouded by mental illness when he was twenty-eight. Painter, singer, philosopher, theologian, naturalist, preacher, poet, and traveler, he approached life with warmth, humor, and intellectual curiosity. For a decade and a half before tragedy struck he was so effective a missionary for his church that he was placed in its presidency, so good a poet that his hymns are still sung, so compelling a preacher in Utah that it was rumored he would supplant Brigham Young, and so entertaining a writer that his descriptions of the places he visited conveyed to readers in the Midwest the excitement of America’s expanding frontier. Enthusiastic about the world in which he lived, David not only devoted himself to his religion but also dabbled in séances and spiritualism, defined the religious implications of contemporary science, challenged the Utah Mormons about polygamy, and argued the place of reason in a revelation-oriented theology.” [Italics emphasis is mine.]
It did not hit me at first. This preface holds the key to the mental illness development of David Smith. I do not have the Scriptural reference off the top of my head. The Old Testament especially the Pentateuch warns against consulting with witches, diviners, necromancers (spiritualists, talkers with the dead). The Israelites led by God and Moses were warned to have nothing to do with these things. King Saul, the first king of Israel, dabbled into this arena also with disastrous results in going to the witch of Endor to consult with the “ghost of Samuel”. We, nowadays, want to subscribe mental illness to genetic disorders or chemical imbalances. We underestimate the influence of the occult and opening the door to demonic influences.
I have had 2 classes, Rejection I & Rejection II, with material developed by one of the founders or main persons connected with Lake Hamilton Bible Camp which specializes in deliverance ministry. The book, Rejection and Its Fruits and Its Roots, is relevant to this subject. I’ve also had teaching in connection with CCM (Contemporary Christian Ministries) in regards to “opening of doors”. In addition, I have gone through the process of deliverance and inner healing for things in my life that were not right with God. I have been blessed and freed from past unhealthy soul ties and past fruits and roots as related to rejection, fear, pride, and other ungodly things in my life. I realize this can be a one-time event, but it also becomes a lifelong process.
I was wondering about this episode with David Smith. I have never heard anyone mention that he “dabbled in the occult” (spiritualism, séances). This would explain how he could open himself up to the demonic. David Smith was born after his father, Joseph Smith, Jr., along with his uncle, Hyrum Smith, were killed by mob actions. There are also sins connected with the parents—generational curses. Whether Joseph Smith, Jr. (JS, Jr.) originated the doctrine of polygamy or not is open to debate, we do know that he dabbled into masonry and promulgated baptism for the dead and other esoteric practices that could have opened doors in the life of David Smith. The very loss of a parent before one is born is a form of “rejection”. (anger/resentment at not having parent in life; sense of abandonment.)
A good example of this would be that the murder of JS, Jr. caused David Smith to grow up without his actual father. He did have a father figure in the form of a step-father Lewis Bidamon, when Emma re-married. David Smith became a part of the “Josephites”/”Reorganites” (Joseph Smith III-JSIII) in following his brother to become a part of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) in contrast to the Utah “Brighamites” or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). In missions to the west, David Smith had to deal with persons telling him that his father JS, Jr. had promulgated and practiced polygamy while he could not speak with his mother Emma (improper) or his brother JSIII who took a hard-line stance that his father neither originated nor practiced the doctrine of “plurality of spiritual wives”. David’s later mental illness ended up costing his son Elbert a father figure so the sins of the father are visited upon the grandson going from generation to generation.

Temple of Solomon Reflection 2 & 3 (week 3-4):
I do not really have any good reflections on the Temple of Solomon because I will admit that I am behind on the reading with being out ill. I want to reflect on the cause of the illness. You are free to share this with others.
I want to recount what transpired on 2/12. I had told Dr. Nick that I was willing to go out to see Brian & Rhonda and get the keys to the college from Brian. What Peggy and I dealt with became something else. We knew that we might have to deal with some things because we knew about the family’s history of witchcraft & more, but we did not realize what we would end up dealing with. First time that we went out, no one answered the door though I thought that I heard someone yelling “a-hole…” or something like that (mother?). We had made sure that we applied a blood line of Christ, had the armor of God on, and had mighty prayer. We went home to try again later. The first time that we went we took our wedding album and wedding scrapbook to be able to share. We went to Mardel’s and did some errands and went home to unwind from ominous feeling.
We tried again later in day with blood line, armor, and prayer. We both went up to door this time. We figured it would work out because it seemed like most of the lights were on in the house. We were not even sure it was the right house, but the mailbox was short, saw an angel in the yard, Christmas stuff still on door, and I had spotted Brian’s favorite energy drink can by the door. We knocked about 5x without an answer though we thought we heard voices, but no one came to the door. We finally went to the car and began to text them with our new phones. We finally got the responses: “getting a car”, “tinkering with a car”, and more. I tried to figure out when we could get the keys, and they offered the next day so we invited them to church. We eventually left and got to Radioshack where Brian called, and I hand the phone to Peggy.
I do not remember when exactly, but I started to get really hot on my face and then feel it in my ears and sinuses and head. We got home and made the mistake of delaying prayer to get settled and contact Dr. Nick then Peggy prayed over me. It did not lift off until she used her prayer language then I got discernment/knowledge that it was a demon spirit of infirmity. We were thankful that we had not gone in the house and wondered if a “curse” had been directed at us.
By the next day, I had a full-blown case of sinusitis (sinus infection) and had to have prayer and anointing with oil both in morning and in evening on Sunday and more prayer later in the week and even into this week.
I guess my reflection is that we need to be ready all the time. Peggy later in the week had to deal with a demonic or satanic lair of a house. I do not think it was an accident that I was mostly out of commission (to be able to offer prayer support) when she dealt with this and got information from Dr. Eva about what she was dealing with. We are blessed with being at Faith Bible College and Ebony & Ivory to learn about how to deal with this stuff. I guess you will not be attacked unless you are a threat. I do realize that I allowed a measure of pride/ego/rationalization to put a “chink” or hole in the armor and covering of God. It was a tremendous lesson to me in allowing God to do His thing and not to think “my thing” is helpful (wearing a hat that might bother Brian). I learned the importance of humility, dependence of God, and need for broken heart and contrite spirit and that God’s protection is more than sufficient.

Rejection II Final: familiar spirits
I was interested in familiar spirits to an experience in 2008 with my former friend Mandy who claimed and supposedly walked in all kinds of prophetic giftedness. We (Peggy and I) and our former friends (Mandy & Dixie—actively practicing lesbians) were going to have some intercessory prayer together. The friendship was already strained, but we were trying to work on a little bit of reconciliation. I was chewing on some gum and wanted to throw it away so I told them that I would be right back since the trash container was a little walk away. When I returned, Mandy was claiming to be having Jesus speak through her (a common occurrence or claiming contact with an angel, archangel, or another Scriptural figure). I had predicted that Mandy would try something like this and also do not believe that Jesus would start a message and could not wait for me to return from throwing away my gum. I had felt a mighty, Spirit-filled prayer welling up inside of me. I deflated like a spent balloon, and asked, “God, is this of You….(pause) or is this a familiar spirit?!?” Immediately, the Holy Spirit confirmed to me that it was a familiar spirit.
Before attending Faith Bible College and taking this course, I cannot say that I really understood what a familiar spirit is. I knew that there were references to such a thing in the Bible. (O.T. references only with cases involving divination-Lev. 19:31, 20:6, 27; Deut. 18:11; 1 Sam. 28:3, 7-9; 2 Ki. 21:6, 23:24; 1 Chr. 10:13; 2 Chr. 33:6; Isa. 8:19, 19:3, 29:4)
“First, a familiar spirit is a spirit that you are familiar with, through which you can manifest supernatural power. Second, a familiar spirit is one assigned to you and your family, to observe you and become familiar with you, so that he knows your weaknesses, sins, and strengths.” (p. 285) It goes on to say that, “Unfortunately, some Christians also have familiar (unclean) spirits, which masquerade as the Holy Spirit….appear as gifted people….minister in churches….manifest supernatural power….power displayed depends upon relative strength of the familiar spirit.” (p. 285)
I know that Mandy claimed healing from a multiple personality (narcissistic personality) disorder, addiction, and more. I also know that she had prayer for deliverance a number of times for the issue of homosexuality, but then she returned to the sin and even had a homosexual “marriage” ceremony (union). Later, we heard that she wanted to form promiscuous ties with other lesbians. We must be careful about performing a deliverance with someone going back to sin. (1 to 8 to 64 to 512 demons based on Luke 11:24-26 & 3 failed deliverances).
Thus, we can end up with someone claiming to be a prophetess, tongues-speaker and interpreter, healer (reiki master), prophetic dreamer and visionary, shaman, and more. “You will know them by their fruits…” (Mat. 7:15-20, Luke 6:43-45) which has now cost her partner her retirement, their house, their car, Mandy’s health (diabetes and now cancer).
When I examined what little I knew about Mandy, there were key factors all over the tree diagram from the roots (of Rejection-family, society, culture, peers) to the branches (of Fear—fantasy, terror, insecurity-inferiority, torment, perfection, self-pity & of Pride—paranoia, accusation, rebellion, stubborn, bitterness) to the rotting fruit (consumptive lifestyle, rage, nitpicking, poverty, abusive relationships, blame, cancer, and witchcraft).
In conclusion, I would not underestimate the power of a familiar spirit to mislead and deceive and underestimate the damage done by false (familiar spirit-led) and flesh-led prophets to the Body of Christ. I am not thrilled about being gullible and naïve to the above situation, but it gave me a very quick education in spiritual warfare, in discernment, and in appreciation of the true prophetic ministry vs. the false prophetic ministry.
After a recent retreat in which this person misled a senior prophetic minister and claimed an encounter with an archangel. I see that this familiar spirit continues to delude Mandy and others including her pastor who was claiming to speak for Jesus and be overpowered in the power of the Holy Spirit though others discerned it as “flesh” while I got the sense it was much worse with the influence of the demonic. This is not a spirit to underestimate or dismiss easily, and it can become a major strongman in destroying lives and health and misleading the persons affected and others.

Midterm: plan of how to get closer to God—what to do? How to enact it?
My first thought in my plan of how to get closer to God—“continue to follow you (Dr. Nick) as you follow Christ!”—Actually, I know that both my wife Peggy and I have made tremendous strides in our walks with the Lord as we have gotten involved with Ebony & Ivory Ministries and deeper with Faith Bible College classes.
The Spirit has been highlighting areas in my life—hidden sins, forgotten sins, pride/ego, arrogance, and more that I need to work on. Fasting and prayer is definitely one way and one gift that the Lord has given me in order to start dealing with these areas. I know that I cannot accomplish what He is laying on me and His calling on my life without my life becoming holy, consecrated, and purified to Him and His Presence.
I am going to address this issue through the magnifying lenses of this past weekend. The sermons by Dr Eva about getting back what the devil has stolen and by Brenda about right time but wrong channel highlight some problems that I am working on and have worked on.
I am going to take an analogy from Bill Johnson—football analogy. Focusing on the works of the devil/satan is kind of like being on the greatest football team and having the football yet you look over at the opposing team’s nasty, cheating, dirty team practicing on the sidelines and take your focus off your quarterback (minister/mentor + Spirit) and off your coach (God the Father) and off the asst. coach, All of Time Star Quarterback (Jesus who died on the field)……BUT YOU HAVE THE BALL. What has been highlighted to me is to keep my focus on the MAIN THING (MAIN PERSON)—Jesus Christ and what He is calling me to.
I have dealt with an unexpected, spiritual attack and a “general legion”-influenced former friend (persons with multiple deliverances [so 1864512? demons] succeeding in giving “prophetic word” to a congregation in which I am a member so I have had conflict with my best friend who is an Elder and with my former mentor among others over how they could allow such a thing.
Peggy, my wife, and I had some powerful experiences where God highlighted our past (Friday night, Sunday morning), highlighted our present (prophetic prayer room on Saturday, ministering and praying in the Name of the Lord), and our future (Sunday afternoon, evening plus things from Friday and Sunday am). Dr. Nick and Ebony & Ivory Ministries along with associated ministries (like Ministeria Internacionales Dios Se Presenta ?) have the “ball” (anointing, enduement of power from on High) and backing of the Spirit, Jesus Christ, and God the Father. My way to go deeper is to allow the Lord God to do His work on me and my life to purify, consecrate, and cleanse me deeper, to grow my discernment of the spirits & Spirit, my wisdom and knowledge, and work on growing my prophetic gifts of tongues, fasting, preaching, prophecy, prayer, and healing. I want to be a faithful disciple and friend of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and yes, that means following and allowing myself to be mentored, corrected, and encouraged by Dr. Nick in this walk with Christ.

Midterm: plan of how to get closer to God—what to do? How to enact it?
My first thought in my plan of how to get closer to God—“continue to follow you (Dr. Nick) as you follow Christ!”—Actually, I know that both my wife Peggy and I have made tremendous strides in our walks with the Lord as we have gotten involved with Ebony & Ivory Ministries and deeper with Faith Bible College classes.
The Spirit has been highlighting areas in my life—hidden sins, forgotten sins, pride/ego, arrogance, and more that I need to work on. Fasting and prayer is definitely one way and one gift that the Lord has given me in order to start dealing with these areas. I know that I cannot accomplish what He is laying on me and His calling on my life without my life becoming holy, consecrated, and purified to Him and His Presence.
I am going to address this issue through the magnifying lenses of this past weekend. The sermons by Dr Eva about getting back what the devil has stolen and by Brenda about right time but wrong channel highlight some problems that I am working on and have worked on.

Vision of wall and demon over Independence
Testimony given at Independence Christian Center, Oct. 10, 1999, by Paul Tucker, missionary,
recently ministering to the Ojibwa Indians in Canada.
My message this morning deals with ‘Reaching Your Destiny.’ Now, I don’t know what I’m
going to preach, but that’s my sermon topic. You know, during the course of a service anything
can change. But I’ve learned one thing, that there are certain keys that we need to recognize in a
service. And we’ve had several this morning.
The first things I’m going to tell you about is a little insight the Lord gave me in the first service.
As we were worshipping the Lord, suddenly, I saw what I described as an invisible wall that
seemed to be surrounding this community, this whole community. And I call it invisible simply
because we couldn’t see it. It was very real to me. It was a very high wall, a very thick wall,
but I saw this wall being dismantled bit by bit, piece by piece, board by board, post by post,
I saw it being dismantled. And I though in my mind, What is causing this to be dismantled, and
suddenly I saw a group of people that were praying. And I believe that somebody in this church,
a group of people, has been praying_how many have been praying?_there’s some kind of a
wall that’s coming down_I want you to know that_that’s being torn down.
And then the scene was changed and I saw a throne over this community, like a throne, a big
seat; and a big, dark, ugly looking character was sitting on this throne, and he was looking down
on this church with a big frown upon his face, at this church. He was very unhappy with what
was happening here, a look of disgust and disdain and disappointment, and as this group of
people over here was praying I suddenly saw a figure come to where this throne was at, which
I believe was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, He’s the King of kings, and He’s the king over
every throne, and over every dominion_how many know that this morning?_and I saw Him
just kind of sit on this seat and go like this (bump)_you know_and suddenly this figure exited,
he was pushed off the throne, hallelujah, and I believe that God is bringing down principalities
and powers.
Oh, one other thing: I saw, in the Spirit I saw, that this wall had been built, erected generations
in the past because somebody, some generation in the past, did not take their rightful place and
did not hold on to the inheritance that God gave them and so an outside invader came in and
took possession of the territory that really belonged to God. How many know this community
belongs to God? Amen. I’m talking about the one true living God. And I’m not talking about
syncretism, if you know what syncretism is. That’s a mixture of all kind of conglomerates.
How many know that God doesn’t like mixed drinks? Amen. He likes the pure stuff, Amen?
Hallelujah. And so God is not content to have a lot of false leaven in the bread. So I believe
that God is establishing purity, and the Lord has a real destiny for this church, hallelujah.
And this former generation of people that relinquished what God gave them, the Lord gave me
a verse for this church, 1Peter two and verse nine, which says, You are a chosen generation.
This is the generation that’s going to make an impact on this community, hallelujah, Amen.
This is the generation right here, you’re the generation, praise the Lord. You’re the chosen
generation. God has a special mission for you. You are a people on a mission impossible,
hallelujah. How many of you want to a part of that team, Mission Impossible? Well, we’re
going to call it Mission Possible, because all things are possible with God. And God is going
to change the course of things.
