The few, the proud, the marines.....no, the hardy, churchgoers!!!

It was an interesting experience trying to dig the car out, then getting it turned around, then actually getting out to the street, and then actually making it to church--Celebration Ministries.

I know that many churches were closed--Walnut Gardens, East Alton, East Independence, Raytown, Buckner, Special Ministries, and others.

We made it into church. With a 2-3 foot drift in front of the building in back, we went to work on opening the church and having Sunday School in the fellowship hall below the sanctuary. Potluck had already been canceled the night before. Celebration pastor Steve and a friend John even got stuck trying to get in the upper parking lot which was not plowed unlike the lower lot which had been.

We were missing our worship leader and planner and preacher. Our brother Tom put together a service in which he talked about knowledge of God going to the Gentiles in the form of the wise men and related to the Chinese communist attempts to "kill Christianity" in China by kicking out the missionaries and suppressing the churches yet it has gone from a million or less Christians in China to maybe 35 million or more Christians in house churches in China. We had a good spirit and the Good Spirit blessing our service as some persons from the neighborhood including 3 kids so we went from initially 5 to about 14.

I was glad to share my testimony regarding prayer over my brother Ryan by a couple of friends that are married. She had prayed for a crack for the Spirit to get in, and I felt the Spirit with that prayer for God to get in and past the walls of stress, anxiety, pain, depression, and more. Over Christmas Eve and Christmas, we saw snow that sneaked into the door and window.
